ADHD in School: Best Practices for Educators to Use

Students with ADHD want to do well and succeed in school. They don’t want to be consistently inconsistent in their daily performance. Yet, poor performance is a predictable result for students who struggle. ADHD can also impact the performance of an entire classroom. Participants will gain knowledge and skills in identifying, understanding, and applying best practice strategies for students with ADHD.

The Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights: Five Years Later

This workshop will provide the most current information and updates for the Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights Act, as well as information to help ensure your school is in compliance. Cases and legislative responses from the past 5 years will be reviewed.

Intervention & Referral Services (I.&R.S.)

This 3 day training will prepare members of the I. & R. S. / 504 teams to identify and address a student’s academic, behavioral and health difficulties through prepared cases. Participants will learn how to assess and develop intervention strategies in order to comply with the I. & R. S. regulations and Section 504 accommodations.

More Than Sad: Suicide Prevention Education

Participants in this workshop will receive the evidence-based More Than Sad suicide awareness and prevention curriculum, which was developed by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. More Than Sad is a training for adults who work with youth in schools and/or community settings. Special focus is given to risk factors and warning signs for suicide, as well as resources for youth and families.

SECTION 504: I. & R. S. Overview: Ensuring Your School is in Compliance

This workshop will review new amendments to the law, the differences and similarities between I. & R. S. and 504 and how to determine eligibility for each.

Strengthening Families Program - Two-Day Group Leader Certification Training

The Strengthening Families Program (SFP) is a nationally and internationally recognized model parenting program. SFP is an evidence-based family skills training program found to significantly reduce problem behaviors, delinquency, and alcohol and drug abuse in children, and to improve social competencies and school performance. Program materials are an extra fee and can be purchased at a discount from the program developer. Completion of the training certifies participant to deliver the 14 week program.
