A cancer diagnosis is one of the most difficult challenges for any individual or family to face. As part of RWJBarnabas Health's commitment to treat cancer with care, our facilities offer counseling for individuals and families. Many patients benefit from counseling with a trained professional. Counseling offers patients a safe place to talk about their concerns, challenges, and experiences. Our facilities also offer pastoral care for faith-based support.

Counseling can be an important compliment to your medical care. Along with the benefits to psychological wellbeing, studies indicate that social support, such as professional or group counseling, can positively influence survival rates. We encourage cancer patients to discuss counseling with their doctors and nurses, or to call the psychosocial, pastoral or social work departments at their RWJBarnabas Health facility.
