Donor-Funded Programs

  • Paws for Patients canine therapy program connects trained hospice volunteers, and their certified therapy dogs, with patient and families who would like to receive a visit.
  • Music & MemorySM Program helps patients find renewed joy and pleasure in rediscovering the music that matters to them most by providing patients with portable music devices loaded with personalized music playlists. Barnabas Health Hospice is the first hospice agency in New Jersey to participate in the program. We are certified and specially trained by Music & MemorySM, a non-profit organization created to improve the quality of lives of those living with memory loss and long-term diseases.
  • Bereavement Support available for the first 13 months following loss. It includes phone calls, mailings, memorial services, workshops and specialized support groups.
  • The Memory Bear Project offers a wonderful service to families that helps preserve the memory of a loved one – the Bear Hugs program. Through the Bear Hugs program, Barnabas Health Hospice volunteers will handcraft a Memory Bear from one of a loved one's garments.
  • Community Outreach One comment we hear every day from families is that they wish they had used Barnabas Health Hospice services earlier. Help us educate our communities about available options when facing a life-limiting illness and empower them in their decision making by sponsoring a community outreach event.
  • Only a staggering 9% of Barnabas Health Hospice our patients utilize Hospice services between 3-6 months before death, even though Medicare and most private insurers cover Hospice services when a patient is diagnosed with a terminal disease or has a life expectancy of 6 months or less.
