Exercise Your Way to Good Health

Whether you want to lose weight or maintain a healthy weight, regular physical activity is key to your overall good health. Staying active will not only help you look and feel better, it also helps combat health conditions and diseases.

As a general rule, aim for at least 30 minutes of physical activity every day. Increase your level of physical activity to “burn off” calories. Regular exercise, combined with reduced “caloric intake,” will help you reduce and maintain weight loss.

Physical activity also helps reduce:

  •  high blood pressure
  •  risk for type 2 diabetes, heart attack, stroke and several forms of cancer
  •  arthritis pain and associated disability
  •  risk for osteoporosis and falls
  •  symptoms of depression and anxiety
