- Each group class includes 10 hours of diabetes education taught over 5 sessions
- We offer education in individual counseling sessions as well

February 29th 6:30-7:30 p.m. – Diabetes and Heart Disease
Did you know that Adults with diabetes have heart disease death rates about 2 to 4 times higher than adults without diabetes? With February being American Heart Month, now is a good time to review the strategies for keeping your heart in good health when you have diabetes. We will discuss food, exercise, stress management and maintaining good blood sugars to keep your heart in its best shape.
Ever wonder what makes your blood sugars fluctuate so widely? Questioning if your meter is accurate? At this support group we will talk about why we should be monitoring our blood sugars. We will discuss blood sugar targets and what effects our blood sugars. We will discuss the options available to monitoring the sugars and compare the features of the different monitors. This support group will help you to make real changes to help you achieve better sugar control.
