PARENTS AND STUDENT ATHLETES CAN LEARN HOW TO PREVENT COMMON SPORTS RELATED INJURIES AT AMBULATORY CARE CENTER SEMINAR

Livingston, NJ --The Saint Barnabas Sports and Physical Medicine Institute at the Barnabas Health Ambulatory Care Center, an affiliate of the Saint Barnabas Health Care System, will hold a free educational program, Prevention of Common Sports Related Injuries: What parents and athletes need to know about sports injuries, on Monday, March 15, 2010. The program starts 6:30 p.m. and ends at 8 p.m. Registration begins at 6 p.m. The program will be held in Conference Rooms A/B at the Ambulatory Care Center, located at 200 South Orange Avenue, Livingston.

This program will focus on injuries that are often seen while young athletes are playing sports. It will also feature pertinent information about proper conditioning for athletes to help prevent injuries.

Speakers will include John Shumko, MD, PhD, Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation; Michael Rieber, MD, Shoulder Injuries; Joshua Strassberg, MD, Hip and Knee Injuries; and Michael Baskies, MD, Hand Injuries.

A question and answer session will be held afterwards.
