The Division of Otolaryngology provides evaluation, diagnosis and treatment for infants and children with disorders involving the ears, nose and throat, upper respiratory system and neck. The Division works closely with speech pathologists and audiologists in testing and rehabilitating children with hearing, voice and speech disorders; and collaborates with radiologists, hematologists and oncologists in the treatment of children with malignant tumors of the head and neck. Sophisticated endoscopic and recording equipment is used to evaluate children with:

  • Stridor (an abnormal high-pitched sound caused by an obstruction in the trachea or larynx)
  • Airway obstruction
  • Sleep apnea
  • Voice disorders
  • Short palate
  • Nasal and sinus problems
