
Children's Heart Center – Children's Hospital of New Jersey
Children's Hospital is the state's premier hospital caring for children, with specialized services to treat
ill and injured children from newborn to adolescent years as well as preventive programs that promote
wellness in the community. Children's Hospital of New Jersey is an affiliate of Barnabas Health, the
largest integrated health care delivery system in the state. As a hospital devoted only to children,
Children's Hospital of New Jersey recognizes that the special needs of children and their families
extend far beyond clinical interventions. The facility provides an atmosphere of caring and warmth that
complements the extraordinary medical care that is delivered by medical and surgical specialists who
are all dedicated exclusively to children's health. The hospital's comprehensive inpatient and outpatient
pediatric services include a licensed cardiac surgery program, lung transplant program, state-designated
regional perinatal center, pediatric intensive care unit, pediatric emergency department, Neonatal
Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS)/Apnea Center, the State's only licensed pediatric cardiothoracic
surgery program, Valerie Fund Children's Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, neonatal ICU with
New Jersey's only ECMO unit, HIV/AIDS treatment for children as well as a sexual and child abuse
program.
Pediatric Radiology Department – Newark Beth Israel Medical Center
Newark Beth Israel offers comprehensive pediatric imaging using X-rays, Low Dose Fluoroscopy,
Ultrasound, CT, and MRI. Advanced techniques such as MR enterography and Doppler ultrasound of
the brain and bowel are also employed. Direct supervision of all imaging by our pediatric radiologist
allows us to minimize radiation dose and maximize diagnostic yield. Close communication with
referring physicians enables us to provide the most personalized care to our patients.
Emergency Department – Newark Beth Israel Medical Center
The Lester M. Bornstein Department of Emergency Medicine is staffed 24 hours a day by full-time
emergency physicians and nurses treating approximately 90,000 patients annually. Fully equipped to
handle all medical, surgical and psychiatric emergencies, the Department's board-certified emergency
physicians and specialized emergency nurses provide quality care to all ages from newborns to the
elderly.The Emergency Department also offers state-of-the-art pediatric emergency services with a
separate waiting area and board-certified pediatric emergency specialists.
