Newark, NJ -- Joshua Rosenblatt, MD, has been named Interim Chairman of Pediatrics at Children’s Hospital of New Jersey at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center (NBIMC). Dr. Rosenblatt, a pediatrician, has most recently served as Director of Academic Affairs and Director of Pediatric Medical Education at NBIMC. He also serves as Associate Vice President for Medical Education for the Saint Barnabas Health Care System.
“Dr. Rosenblatt has been a longtime member of The Beth community and has done an outstanding job for pediatric and graduate medical education,” says John A. Brennan, MD, Executive Director. “As Interim Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics, he will bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to Children’s Hospital of New Jersey.”
Dr. Rosenblatt, a resident of Upper Montclair, received his undergraduate degree from Cornell University and his medical degree from New Jersey Medical School. He completed his residency in Pediatrics at NBIMC and his fellowship in Primary Care at Michigan State University.
In his university appointments, Dr. Rosenblatt serves as Associate Dean for Newark Beth Israel Medical Center for the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) and as Assistant Professor Clinical Pediatrics for UMDJN.
His hospital committees include the Medical Executive Committee, Bylaws Committee, Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee, Medication Safety Subcommittee (Co Chair) and Graduate Medical Education Committee (Chair). He is a member of the New Jersey Medical Society, Essex County Medical Society, Ambulatory Pediatric Association, Association of Pediatric Program Directors and the Association of Hospital Medical Education.
