Newark, NJ--US Men’s Olympic gymnast John Orozco, in town for scheduled knee surgery while promoting the November 10th Kellogg’s Tour of Gymnastics Champions at The Prudential Center, took time out of his day to visit with patients at CHoNJ.
Orozco, a Bronx, NY native, was greeted by NBIMC President and CEO John A. Brennan, MD, and COO Darryl K. Terry Sr., and received a standing ovation from physicians, nurses and employees in the cafeteria where he spoke to them about the Summer Olympics and his gymnastics career.
The 2012 Visa National Champion went room to room in the Children’s Hospital visiting with pediatric patients where he took photos, signed autographs and spoke with the children about the Olympics.
“Being able to visit Newark Beth Israel means a lot to me. I can go to training and work hard every day and that is important, but I love the feeling of putting a smile on a child’s face and if I can brighten their day just a little bit then it is a great feeling,” he said.
