Each day, Clara Maass Medical Center (CMMC) nurses provide the best care to every patient. To celebrate their achievements and in honor of National Nurses’ Week, the Clara Maass Medical Center Foundation teamed with Dieci Colori and Dieci Lifestyle Spa in Livingston to treat CMMC nurses to a special evening complete with cocktails, hors d’ouevres, and the opportunity to learn tips of the trade from Dieci creator, Marie Gaglioti and her team of makeup and skincare professionals.
“Clara Maass nurses do so much for our patients have always been such great supporters of the Foundation,” said Jane Newman Kessler, CFRE, vice president, Clara Maass Medical Center Foundation. “They work so hard and are so caring that we wanted to do something special and pamper them a bit.”
More than 30 nurses listened and watched as Gaglioti and her team addressed the different skin care and makeup application concerns expressed by the group. Dieci makeup artists demonstrated makeup application techniques on volunteers and one specially selected nurse—who claimed to have been putting on her makeup the same way for 25 years—received a full hair and makeup makeover.
“When you’re a working professional like a nurse it’s sometimes hard to sit down and take time to put on makeup,” said Marie Gaglioti. “It doesn’t take long to do the basics, so we focused on teaching the nurses quick tips and techniques for your average woman on the go.”
At the end of the evening, Gaglioti sent each nurse home with a complementary gift bag.
“The Dieci staff was so nice and attentive,” said Sue Gallina, RN, from the Surgery Department. “We really learned a lot and enjoyed ourselves. I now look forward to doing my makeup in the morning. I also can’t wait to try out the spa! ”
