Belleville, NJ—Clara Maass Medical Center, a Barnabas Health facility, was recently named among the 2012-2013 Best Hospitals metro area and New Jersey rankings released by U.S. News & World Report. Additionally, Clara Maass joins Barnabas Health hospitals Monmouth Medical Center, Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, Saint Barnabas Medical Center and Children’s Hospital of New Jersey at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in receiving this recognition.
Clara Maass Medical Center also was also listed as high-performing in the New York Metropolitan area for Nephrology.
“To be ranked among the best hospitals in New Jersey and the New York Metro area for the third consecutive year by U.S. News and World Report is a testament to the physicians, nurses and staff at Clara Maass Medical Center,” said Mary Ellen Clyne, Ph.D., President and Chief Executive Officer of Clara Maass Medical Center. “We are proud to once again be recognized for providing outstanding health care to our patients and members of the communities we serve.”
Earlier this year, Thomson Reuters—a leading provider of information and solutions to improve the cost and quality of health care—named Clara Maass Medical Center one of the nation’s 100 Top Hospitals®. Clara Maass was also named an Everest Award winner by Thomson Reuters, a distinction for only 12 hospitals among the 100 winners for delivering the greatest rate of improvement over five years. Additionally, Clara Maass Medical Center earned an “A”, the highest score possible, for Hospital Safety Scores by The Leapfrong Group.
Nearly 5,000 hospitals were initially considered by U.S. News & World Report in these rankings, which evaluate specialty as well as volume. Hospitals were ranked according to reputation, mortality, patient safety and other areas, including nurse staffing and technology. For more information, visit U.S. News & World Report.
