“The program that cares for your child”
THE KID’S PLACE is a non-profit early childhood educational program sponsored by Clara Maass Medical Center. Our comprehensive program fosters optimal growth and development of infants, toddlers and preschoolers through a variety of learning experiences that promote their physical, social, emotional and cognitive development.
Licensed by the state of New Jersey, we provide 5 classrooms for the different age groups from 6 weeks to 5-years-old (infants, ones, twos, threes, preschool). We also offer summer camp from June thru September for kids ages 5-13. Our indoor and outdoor facilities are safe, clean and spacious. The environment is arranged so that the children can work either individually, together in small groups, or in larger groups. Developmental activities include block building, art, music, science, math, tumbling and quiet book reading. Other activities such as finger-painting, water play and cooking are also available.
The program is staffed by a Director, Group Teachers and Teacher Assistants. The staff consists of educationally qualified individuals with early childhood education and management.
Staff members plan a variety of developmentally appropriate activities utilizing materials that are selected to emphasize concrete experimental learning designed to:
- Foster positive self-concept
- Develop social skills
- Encourage children to think, reason, question and experiment
- Encourage language development and physical development
- Encourage creative expression
- Respect cultural diversity of staff and children
