The 8,700 square-foot Endoscopy Center is used for treatment and preventative diagnostic procedures that examine areas of the body such as the colon, gastrointestinal system, or the bronchi (which serve as passageways to the lungs). The Endoscopy Center includes a pre-operative and post-operative area for patients, three procedure rooms, family waiting rooms, and concierge service to assist patients and families.
During the endoscopy procedure, doctors use a fiber-optic scope to carefully examine the source of a patient's discomfort or concern while the patient is under sedation. The Center houses state-of-the-art video equipment that helps doctors to detect lesions or other problems like acid reflux or gastric ulcers.
