Toms River, N.J. -- Community Medical Center is pleased to welcome James D. Caldwell, Sr., a native of Toms River, to the board of trustees of Community Medical Center. Mr. Caldwell joined the board in January 2003.
"We are pleased that Mr. Caldwell has joined the Community Medical Center family in the capacity of trustee," said Nancy L. Wollen, RN, CHE, executive director of Community Medical Center. "James Caldwell brings a wealth of knowledge and business acumen to this important role at Community Medical Center and we look forward to his participation on the board."
Mr. Caldwell has been an independent business owner for over 38 years. He owned and operated Ocean County Diving, Caldwell Diving Company and Caldwell Cable Ventures. His clients included AT&T, Cable and Wireless and various other companies involved in underwater projects in the United States and various locations around the world. In 1998, Caldwell Diving Companies was purchased by General Dynamics Corporation.
Mr. Caldwell is a past president of Museum of Man in the Sea, Panama City, Florida, as well as a member of the Advisory Board of the Historical Diving Society, Santa Barbara, California. He also lends his distinctive experience to the boards of The International Association of Diving Contractors, Houston, Texas, The Institute of Diving, Panama City, Florida, Tuckerton Seaport, Tuckerton, New Jersey, Colonel Charles Waterhouse Historical Museum, Toms River, New Jersey, and is Chairperson for the Environmental Learning Center, Toms River, New Jersey.
The board of trustees of Community Medical Center is pleased to add to its ranks a man of James Caldwell's distinction and accomplishments.
Community Medical Center (CMC) is an affiliate of the Saint Barnabas
Health Care System, the largest integrated health care delivery
system in New Jersey, with nine acute care hospitals, nine nursing
homes, five ambulatory care facilities, three geriatric centers,
three assisted living residences, a freestanding 100-bed inpatient
psychiatric facility and a statewide behavioral health network.
Located in Toms River, Community is a fully accredited, acute-care
596-bed facility offering the most advanced, ultra-modern diagnostic
