TOMS RIVER, NJ, JANUARY 13, 2009 – Proper exercise trains a body’s heart to be stronger and more efficient. Regular exercise helps to maintain bone strength, manage arthritis, control weight, reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression, and is associated with fewer hospitalizations, physician visits and medication.
Experts recommend 30 minutes of cardiovascular exercise per day. To help adults who are interested in starting an exercise routine, but don’t know how to begin, Community Medical Center will offer its HEALTH EASE Workshop on Thursday, January 29 from 2 – 3 p.m. at the Lighthouse, 591 Lakehurst Road in Toms River. The workshop will help participants dissipate the barriers to exercise and provide sound and basic information on starting an exercise program and strategies to maintain one.
The program is free, but pre-registration is required by calling
1-800-621-0096.
