Heart Failure Medications to Be Discussed at Community Medical Center’s Support Group for Congestive Heart Failure Patients

Toms River, NJ, July 11, 2012 -
Community Medical Center will host a discussion about heart failure medications at the Wednesday, July 25th meeting of the Congestive Heart Failure Support Group. Guest speaker Jigna Desai, R.Ph, a Community Medical Center pharmacist, will present information to Congestive Heart Failure patients and their loved ones about managing their medications. The meeting will be held from 1-2 pm at The Lighthouse located at 591 Lakehurst Road in Toms River.

Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) is a condition that develops when the heart is unable to provide sufficient blood to the body’s tissues, and is characterized by breathlessness and water retention. The number of CHF patients in our community continues to rapidly increase, and understanding medications is essential to managing the disease.

Community Medical Center, ranked one of the Top 100 hospitals in the country by Thomson Reuters®, offers a support group for individuals and their loved ones who suffer from CHF. The Congestive Heart Failure Support Group meets on the fourth Wednesday of every month from 1-2 pm at the Lighthouse.

The goal of the Support Group is to give CHF patients the opportunity to share their concerns and frustrations and discuss the challenges they face and ways to overcome obstacles related to heart failure.

All are invited to attend and pre-registration is requested. Please call 1.888-724-7123.
