Toms River, N.J., August 20, 2012– The Ninth Annual Paws for Cancer (formerly the Dog Walk for Cancer) will be held at First Energy Park/BlueClaws Stadium in Lakewood, New Jersey on Sunday, September 16 from 10 am to 4 pm. This is an all weather event. All proceeds benefit the J. Phillip Citta Regional Cancer Center at Community Medical Center and local therapy dog organizations.
The event will feature agility lessons and demonstrations, Zumba and Doga (dog yoga), massage and Reiki for people and animals, an animal communicator, doggie kissing booth, pet portraits, obedience games and pet fashion and talent shows. There will also be carnival games for children, refreshments, vendors, a gift auction, a raffle for great prizes and much more.
Two guest speakers, Craig A. Clifford, DVM, MS, Diplomat ACVIM, oncologist, and Siobhan Haney, MS, VMD, Diplomat ACVR, radiation oncologist, will discuss cancer in pets and at 1:30 pm there will be a Blessing of the Animals.
There is a minimum donation of $15 to participate. A prize will be given to the person who raises the most money.
