Celebrate Health, Wellness and Laughter
Community Medical Center Promotes Women’s
Health During National Women’s Health Week

April 24, 2012, Toms River, NJ – Community Medical Center will host ‘Living Well in 2012’ in celebration of national Women’s Health Week. The program is designed to bring women together for an evening to celebrate health, wellness and laughter.

The program will be held on Tuesday May 15, from 5 to 8 pm at the Quality Inn in Toms River. Physician lectures will take place from 6 - 7 pm and health screenings and a Health Fair will be conducted between 5 - 5:45 pm and 7- 8 pm. A light dinner and free drawings for prizes will be provided.

Physician specialists will be available to discuss topics of importance to women’s health including a presentation on stroke awareness by Dr. Darshana Amin, Board Certified in Neurology and Sleep Medicine. She will discuss the increased incidence of stroke in women, discuss risk factors, and what you can do to help prevent a stroke from occurring.

Dr. Lorna A. Brudie, FACOOG, Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, will discuss the latest advances in robotic surgery for women and how this minimally invasive surgical procedure benefits women with gynecologic cancers.

Understanding the benefits of laughter as a stress reliever and how it can boost your immune system will be discussed by Beverly Burns, MA, Ed., from Prevention First. She will lead a Laughter Yoga demonstration which is guaranteed to get you and keep you laughing.
