Kidney Cancer

Laparoscopic removal of a kidney can now be accomplished with robotic surgery. The robotic procedure requires only a few small incisions in the abdomen. The kidney is cut into small pieces to facilitate removal. In contrast, the traditional “open” procedure requires an incision that is several inches long to remove the kidney and typically results in significant post-operative pain and a large surgical scar.
