An angioplasty is a procedure in which a small balloon is
inserted to open a blocked artery and restore blood flow
to the heart. A heart attack can occur if that blood flow
becomes completely blocked.
Highly-experienced interventional cardiologists on staff
at Community Medical Center are available to perform elective
angioplasties. These are the same trusted physicians who
have performed hundreds of life-saving angioplasty procedures
on an emergency basis.
With over 100,000 visits to our Emergency Department annually, the hospital is at the center of the region’s heart attack care and treats more patients with cardiac disease than any other hospital in New Jersey. Due to its successful participation in the Atlantic C-Port-E Study from 2009 to 2011, Community Medical Center has been designated an Elective Angioplasty Registry by the New Jersey Department of Health and Human Services. The 2010 New Jersey Department of Health Hospital Performance Report ranked Community Medical Center number one in Ocean County for the treatment of Heart Attack and Heart Failure. Additionally, Community was recognized by HealthGrades as one of America’s 50 Best Hospitals in 2011 and awarded the Coronary Intervention Excellence Award.
In addition to the excellent
clinical services, you will also be able to remain in the
constant care of your trusted physician, while staying close
to home and to your family.
At Community Medical Center, maintaining
good heart health is the primary goal. The expert staff of
cardiologists, interventional cardiologists, award-winning
cardiac nurses, and specially-trained cardiac technicians
is committed to providing the highest level of cardiac care
and quality patient service. Every member of the team maintains
the highest degree of clinical skill, caring for you with
