Support for Those Grieving the Loss of a Dog
For many people, losing a dog is like losing a member of their family. Beginning Thursday, April 28, the Barnabas Health Hospice and Palliative Care Center, an affiliate of the Saint Barnabas Health Care System, will host a series of bereavement programs for individuals who have lost a beloved dog. The programs will be held on Thursday, 4/28; Tuesday, May 24; and Tuesday, June 28, at 7:00 p.m., at the Barnabas Health Hospice and Palliative Care Center located at 95 Old Short Hills Road in West Orange. Registration is required. Please call 973-322-4871 or email pdevi@barnabashealth.org and indicate which date you wish to attend.
Join Treah Caldwell, BA, Bereavement Counselor, who will address such topics as grief, accepting loss, managing feelings, speaking to children about the loss of a pet, ways to honor your pet’s legacy and when to consider adding a new pet to your family.
