WEST ORANGE, NJ -- A bright and brisk autumn day in Verona Park on Sunday, October 23, provided the perfect setting for the fourth annual “October Tails,” a Halloween-themed dog walk and fundraiser. Animal Emergency and Referral Associates (AERA) in Fairfield and the Animal Eye Center of New Jersey in Little Falls were the Event Sponsors for the second consecutive year. Additional support was provided by sponsors Regal Bank, FreshPet, West Caldwell Animal Hospital, DSGN InteriorDesign, Evercare Veterinary Crematory Services and Constance Sumas and family.

Honorary Emcee Maria Milito, of Q104.3 FM, led several hundred costume-clad canines and their owners through a day of activities, including a Halloween costume contest for dogs and parade, children’s activities, a pet caricaturist, face painting, an agility obedience demonstration and a poster contest for elementary school students.

Proceeds from October Tails benefit Paws for Patients, a canine therapy program for hospice patients and families that is fully funded by the generosity of donors. Donations can be made to octobertails.com for the next several weeks.
