Apogee Physicians Hospitalist Services - A Patient & Family Guide

The Apogee Physicians Hospitalist program at Kimball Medical Center provides many benefits.

What is a Hospitalist?
A Hospitalist specializes in internal medicine and only takes care of hospitalized patients. They have no patient care responsibilities outside the hospital, so they can focus exclusively on you while you are hospitalized. At Kimball Medical Center, our Hospitalists are part of a specialty practice called Apogee Physicians. Care is provided 24/7 by a team of board certified, dedicated physicians who work together to coordinate your care.

How Do You Benefit?
Apogee’s physicians are true Hospitalists, which enables them to focus exclusively on patients and illnesses during their hospital stay. These physicians are skilled in the latest diagnostics and treatments and are held to the highest standards. Having more than one doctor on-site at all times means they are never more than a few minutes away. In case of an emergency or change in your condition, you can be assured a doctor will respond quickly. Our team of Apogee Hospitalists assist you through a smooth recovery process by following up on tests, adjusting your treatment needs and coordinating all aspects of your hospital care to get you back home quickly.

How Does Your Family Benefit?
Apogee Hospitalists are here to provide information in person whenever possible. During critical and stressful moments, they provide honest and considerate answers to your questions. Apogee doctors are always on-site, making them more available to consult with you and your family.

How Does The Hospitalist Communicate With Your Doctor?
At the time of admission to Kimball Medical Center, your doctor contacts the Hospitalists to discuss your condition and treatment needs. Additionally, your doctor will forward copies of office records to provide information about your health. Apogee Physicians work closely with the patient’s primary care doctor to understand the patient’s needs and important past medical history, as well as ensure the correct care after the hospital stay ends. Having an Apogee Physician guarantees that the patient will receive the finest quality medical care with their best interests as the number one priority.
