The Respiratory Care Department provides the diagnostic
testing of Arterial Blood Gases and Pulmonary Function Screening
to determine lung status of patients scheduled for surgery
and those with acute or chronic respiratory insufficiencies.
The department also provides nebulizer therapy, metered dose
inhaler and breathing exercise instruction, as well as non-invasive
pulse oximetry for evaluation of oxygen requirements in the
home.
Outpatients are required to bring a physician prescription
indicating the type of test and reason for the test along
with a physician referral, if needed.
