Lakewood, NJ --- Following your hospital stay, you may be asked to go to your physician’s office for a follow-up visit; or you may need to schedule additional tests for laboratory, radiology or other outpatient testing. That’s why Kimball Medical Center has created a new Patient Concierge Service – to assist patients in scheduling important follow-up care so that they can concentrate on recovering.
The new Patient Concierge Service works with each patient to schedule all tests, appointments and post-hospitalization care. Prior to discharge from inpatient units at Kimball Medical Center, a representative from the Barnabas Health Care Link will contact each patient at his/her bedside to offer their assistance. Through this service, follow-up appointments with physicians or new specialists can be scheduled and appointments for laboratory or outpatient services can also be scheduled.
In addition, reminder calls will be made to all the patients; confirmation letters outlining dates, times and locations of scheduled appointments will be sent; and they will also make sure that each patient is satisfied with the care provided and ensure that all health care needs are met.
“Making sure patients receive the very best in care during their hospital stay is our top priority,” explains Joe Hicks, Executive Director of Kimball Medical Center. “Once patients return home, recovery and continuing care is just as important,” Hicks explains. The Barnabas Health Care Link is a free service available exclusively to Kimball Medical Center patients and their families to help make life a little easier following hospitalization.
The Barnabas Health Care Link maintains a database of over 4,700 physicians affiliated with the Saint Barnabas Health Care System throughout the state, so they can match each patient with physicians or specialists who can best meet their healthcare needs and insurance plans.
