  SEPTEMBER COMMUNITY EDUCATION PROGRAMS

Children’s Health and Weight Management Program
Wednesdays, September 3, 10, 17 and 24 from 4 to 5 pm

According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), 16 percent of kids between 6 and 19 years of age – over 9 million young people – are overweight.  The Children’s Health and Weight Management Program is designed to help children who are more than 20 pounds overweight lose the excess weight, and learn to incorporate positive lifestyle and behavioral changes that will help them keep the weight off.  This four-session program is available to children ages 6 to 16, at no cost to uninsured residents of Lakewood through a Lakewood Township Community Development Grant. Parents are asked to accompany their child for the weekly sessions and are encouraged to participate.  The program will be held at Kimball’s Institute for Rehabilitative and Occupational Health Services located on the Kimball Campus at 500 River Avenue in Lakewood.  A physician’s prescription for medical clearance is necessary to participate in the four-week program. Space is limited to six children per session and registration is required.  For more information or to register, please call David Terlizzi at 732-942-5900.
