KIMBALL OFFERS FOLLOW-UP CARE PROGRAM FOR MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT PATIENTS

Lakewood, NJ ---  Patient’s involved in motor vehicle accidents who are seen in Kimball Medical Center’s Emergency Room now have the option to receive fast-tracked follow-up care through Kimball’s Corporate Care Program, either the same or next business day.

Kimball’s Corporate Care Program, located on the Kimball Campus at 500 River Avenue in Lakewood, will provide timely appointments, either the same or following business day, for discharged MVA patients with a board-certified physician.

Tanisha K. Taylor, MD, MPH, Medical Director of the Corporate Care Program, is double board-certified in both occupational and environmental medicine, and internal medicine, and oversees the follow-up care program.  “Here we can provide quick, easy access to immediate MVA follow-up care, which is critical for most patients who’ve been involved in a motor vehicle accident.  Through our close affiliation with Kimball’s Emergency Room, we have access to all ER medical notes and diagnostic images, and therefore, this ensures the continuum of care for each patient,” she explains.

A unique and beneficial aspect of the Corporate Care program is the actual proximity of its programs and services.  Corporate Care and the Institute for Rehabilitation Services are housed in the same suite on the Kimball Campus.  This proximity allows the medical directors, therapists, wound care specialists, and laboratory services to work cohesively and simultaneously, which ultimately results in a more efficient process and helps provide patients with fast access to all necessary medical services, tests and therapy, so they are able to recover from their injuries quickly.

In addition, on-site laboratory services, referrals to medical specialists, and physical and occupational therapy are all available through the Corporate Care program.

Dr. Taylor earned her undergraduate degree at Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, New York, where she was Valedictorian of her class.  She earned her medical degree from New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York and received a Masters in Public Health Degree from Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut.  Dr. Taylor completed her residency in Internal Medicine from Yale New Haven Hospital and a fellowship in Occupational and Environmental Medicine from Yale University.
