Kimball Medical Center Foundation Cut-A-Thon at Tiberias Spa and Salon

Lakewood, NJ - If you are in need of a salon hair cut or a day at the spa, then this may be a great opportunity for you to have a day of pampering and help raise funds for Kimball Medical Center’s Oncology Unit.

Tiberias Spa and Salon in Lakewood will be hosting a Cut-A-Thon on Sunday, August 16 from 12 pm to 4 pm.  All proceeds from this event will be donated to Kimball Medical Center Foundation for the Oncology Unit towards the purchase of new infusion chairs.

Participants can enjoy a shampoo, cut and blow-dry for $45; a 15 minute chair massage for $15; a 30 minute chair massage for $39.95; a manicure for $20; or an eyebrow or lip waxing for $5.  A bake sale and Chinese Auction will also be available at the salon on that day.

“I am so excited to be hosting this Cut-A-Thon to help this wonderful Foundation,” said Laura Durso, Tiberias Salon Manager.  “My team is filled with some of the most generous and hard working people I have ever met.  When I suggested this idea they all agreed immediately. Cancer has affected all of us in some way, and we want nothing more then to help in any way we can,” she explained.

“We wanted to come together as a team for our community to help raise money,” said salon stylist Tara Kozlowski.  “I am so honored to be a part of a charity event like this. My father was diagnosed with spinal cancer last June.  This past year has been a lot easier because of organizations and charity events like this. I wanted to give back so that I could help another family just as someone had helped mine,” she explained.  “My father has always been very generous in making donations to various organizations.  I would like to follow in his footsteps,” she said.

The Kimball Medical Center Foundation was created to support Kimball Medical Center and the programs and services it provides. The foundation’s accomplishments are funded through events like the Kimball Golf Classic, as well as contributions from individuals, corporations, and other donors for state of the art equipment, facility improvement and programs. The foundation enjoys the support of thousands of friends, especially the members of the Kimball Medical Center Auxiliary Association, whom not only raise funds for the hospital, but also serve as “ambassadors” in the community.
