KIMBALL MEDICAL CENTER PROVIDES OUTPATIENT INFUSION THERAPY IN A HEALING ENVIRONMENT

Lakewood, NJ -- Kimball Medical Center offers a comfortable and healing environment for patients needing infusion therapy as part of their medical treatment.

Kimball’s Outpatient Infusion Department is committed to providing personalized, safe and quality care to patients and their families. “The staff in our Outpatient Infusion department provides a safe, comfortable, and soothing environment where the patient is treated with compassion and respect,” says Joan Scialpi, MSN, RN, OCN, Director of Infusion Services.  “In fact, our Outpatient Infusion Center was recently remodeled to create a more healing environment for our patients.  A growing body of research clearly demonstrates the benefits of a healing environment in health care. One common effect is a reduction in stress and anxiety, which in turn positively impacts our bodies in many ways,” Scialpi explains.

Kimball Medical Center is dedicated to enhancing the patient experience for all of our infusion patients through such amenities as convenient on-site parking with a separate entrance providing easy access, particularly for wheelchair-bound patients. Every aspect of the Outpatient Infusion Center has been designed to provide the ultimate in efficiency and comfort for patients and their families while offering the highest quality care available.

“Our dedication to the delivery of safe and efficient infusions affords you a comfortable and pleasant experience while providing a health care team qualified to meet your every need,” says Scialpi.

For patients undergoing chemotherapy or other infusion treatments, the newly remodeled Outpatient Infusion Center at Kimball Medical Center provides the leading-edge care patients deserve.  In addition, the nursing staff consists of experienced oncology-certified Registered Nurses who have received specialized training and certifications in chemotherapy administration.

These nurses work closely with a team of specialists, including physicians, radiologists, pathologists and pharmacists.

Unlike freestanding infusion centers, Kimball’s Outpatient Infusion Center is supported by the hospital itself.  This partnership offers immediate access to additional hospital services, if they are needed, ensuring patients and their families with peace of mind.

According to Scialpi, some of the services provided to those aged 16 and older include the following:
