Bargain Shopping at Kimball Medical Center’s Thrift Shoppes

Lakewood, NJ ---With the continuing economic downturn, most of us are looking for ways to save money. We are clipping coupons, buying household items and clothing only when it’s on sale, and penny-pinching wherever we can.  But the best-kept secret for those money-conscious individuals is thrift store shopping.  The trend has even made headline news recently.

With a keen eye and a little help from shop managers, you can find tons of treasures at any of the three thrift shops owned and managed by Kimball Medical Center.

At the Lots for Little Shoppe, a thrift store located in the Seagull Square Shopping Mall on Route 9 in Lakewood, customers enjoy browsing a wide assortment of gently used clothing, furniture, small appliances, housewares, books and more at a fraction of their original cost.

The shop offers customers the variety of a small department store in a boutique type atmosphere with bargains that can include fashionable, designer clothing for women or men, a beautiful selection of shoes, designer handbags, fine linens, glassware, dinnerware, small appliances and so much more.

At The Treasure Chest, a thrift store located in the Lakehurst Shopping Center on Route 70 in Lakehurst, customers enjoy perusing a wide assortment of treasures – gently used clothing, small appliances, housewares, shoes, art and fine furniture – also at a fraction of their original cost.

The spacious store is arranged much like a small department store. There’s a men’s department, a ladies department, ladies’ shoes, children’s, housewares, and an area set aside for gadgets. They also have beautiful linens, artwork, and a large furniture department.

At Kimball Closet, a thrift store located in at Romeo Plaza on South Prospect Road in Jackson, general merchandise, including clothing and accessories, small appliances and household items are always available—and also at a fraction of their original cost.

Each of the thrift shops have regular customers, many of whom are collectors and bargain shoppers.

All three thrift shops donate their proceeds once a year to the Kimball Medical Center Foundation where it is used to fund hospital expansions, renovation projects and efforts to enhance health and medical care for the entire community. The shops have raised and donated more than $100,000 during each of the last three years.  These shops not only provide valuable financial support, but also fulfill a need in the community for affordable clothing, household items, toys and other goods.

The thrift shops operate strictly on donations, which often include new items with the tags and original prices intact.

Whether you’re looking to spruce up your wardrobe, outfitting your home or looking for the latest beach reading, Kimball’s thrift shops has something for everyone – at a price that won’t break the bank!
