Michael Mimoso Appointed Executive Director
of Kimball Medical Center

Mike MimosoLAKEWOOD, NJ – Michael Mimoso, FACHE, has been named the Executive Director of Kimball Medical Center, a Barnabas Health facility. Mimoso has been functioning as Kimball’s Acting Executive Director for the past six months. He joined Kimball Medical Center in January 2011 as Chief Operating Officer.

Prior to joining Kimball Medical Center, Mimoso served as Vice President of Operations at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. Previously he was the Chief Executive Officer of Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion, IL, part of Community Health Systems, Inc., one of the nation’s leading for-profit operators of general acute care hospitals.

He has also served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Northern Dutchess Hospital, a member of the Health Quest System of hospitals, where he also held roles as Vice President of Administration and Chief Operating Officer. Between 1996 and 2000, Mimoso served as Vice President of Operations at Kimball Medical Center.

During Mimoso’s tenure at Kimball, many improvements have been realized throughout the hospital. These positive changes include improved patient satisfaction levels, increased quality performance, expansion of programs into new communities, such as the Jacqueline M. Wilentz Breast Center in Howell, as well as several new programs such as the Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Center and an elder care program catering to the needs of the area’s senior population.  In addition, a number of physicians have been brought on staff to further meet the health care needs of the community.

Raymond Shea, Esq., chairman of the Kimball Medical Center Board of Trustees, said, “Since January, Mike has been instrumental in the strategic operations and development of Kimball Medical Center. Mimoso earned his bachelor’s degree in Health Services Administration from Providence College, and a master’s degree in health Services Administration from The George Washington University. He is a fellow of the American College of Health Care Executives and a member of the Healthcare Management Association.
