Adapting to life after an ostomy has many challenges. Patients need time to heal and adjust to the physical and emotional changes that result from this body-altering, yet life-saving surgery. At The Kimball Institute’s Wound Care Center, we are committed to helping individuals enjoy a productive lifestyle, giving them renewed confidence and selfesteem as they become more comfortable with their ostomy and regain their independence.

The Ostomy Care Program team of highly trained specialists understands the importance of individualized attention and care. These professionals work with each patient to develop an all-encompassing treatment plan that includes pre- and postoperative care, lifelong follow-up care and self-care.

Services we provide:

• Pre-surgical ostomy site marking and education
  (only for patients having surgery Kimball Medical Center)
• Post-surgical care and education for patients and family members
• Appliance fitting and adjustments
• Ostomy and peristomal skin assessments and treatments
