LONG BRANCH, N.J. – The Jacqueline M. Wilentz Comprehensive Breast Center at Monmouth Medical Center will sponsor “Art for the Cure” at Pier Village on October 20 and 21 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event is presented as part of the partnership between Pier Village, Long Branch, and the Central and South Jersey Susan G. Komen for the Cure for Breast Cancer Awareness Month during October.
According to Komen for the Cure, every three minutes a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer. The Jacqueline M. Wilentz Comprehensive Breast Center at Monmouth Medical Center is committed to meeting the breast health needs of all women – including by providing quality service and education and supporting fund-raising efforts to eradicate the disease.
In keeping with the Wilentz Center’s tradition of community engagement, Art for the Cure will feature local artists, performers and fun for people of all ages. Local artists Donna Ferrante, Michael Quon and David Banegas will feature their wares along Centennial Drive and Festival Plaza. There will also be ballroom dancing demonstrations by Anytime Dance and organic products from Nan’s Naturals and Me Thyme.
All proceeds will benefit screening mammograms for underserved and underinsured women in the local community, as well as breast cancer research.
