Janice Lichtenberger, M.D., medical director of the newborn nursery at Monmouth Medical Center, was selected to participate in the Clinical Asthma Champions Leadership Training Program.

LONG BRANCH –Janice Lichtenberger, M.D., a pediatrician at The Children’s Hospital at Monmouth Medical Center, has been selected as one of 30 early-career physicians nationwide to participate in the Clinical Asthma Champions Leadership Training Program.
Led by the South Bronx Asthma Partnership, the Clinical Asthma Champions Leadership Training Program works with early career physicians to improve the quality of care for asthma patients by improving provider knowledge and communication skills and redesigning practice delivery systems.
As one of 30 participants, Dr. Lichtenberger will be equipped with the clinical knowledge and system-based skills necessary to apply the key concepts of the National Asthma Education and Prevention Program’s Expert Panel Report-3 (EPR-3) and the Guidelines Panel (GIP) to improve asthma care locally.
The Clinical Asthma Champions Leadership Program is funded in part by the National Asthma Control Initiative of the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI) and National Institutes of Health (NIH).
Dr. Lichtenberger earned her medical degree from SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. She completed her residency at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. She resides in Red Bank.
