an affiliate of the Saint Barnabas Health Care System, recently
celebrated the grand opening of Shore Occupational Medicine
with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by local business leaders,
community members and government officials.
The ribbon-cutting took place on Thursday, April 21 at Monmouth
Medical Center. Frank J. Vozos, MD, executive director of Monmouth
Medical Center, welcomed approximately 100 guests and dignitaries
and praised the collaboration between the hospital and Shore
“Shore Occupational Medicine is dedicated to providing
a full line of health services to business, industry and government
agencies to maintain the health and wellness of their employees,” Dr.
Vozos said. “Monmouth Medical Center is proud to work in
collaboration with this organization to help manage, control
and reduce workers compensation and other related health costs
within a quality health care delivery system.”
The principal role of Shore Occupational Medicine is the provision
of health advice and services to its clients to ensure the highest
standards of health and safety at work can be achieved and maintained.
They provide job-specific physical examinations, routine screenings,
x-rays, EKGs, laboratory and blood work including drug and alcohol
testing, and treatment and case management of work-related injuries,
to name a few, to businesses throughout the region.
Shore Occupational Medicine also works with clients to control
expenditures through a variety of measures including risk analysis,
injury and incident prevention, aggressive safety programs and
In addition, Shore Occupational Medicine provides an efficient
system for the care of work related injuries and illnesses. Employees
of contracted companies receive priority treatment at the center,
located conveniently off the main lobby and near the Emergency
Department of Monmouth Medical Center. Patients who need to be
seen due to a workplace injury or illness after hours are treated
at Monmouth Medical Center’s Emergency Department, allowing
for 24-hour-per day, seven-day-a-week care.
Mark Sisskin, MD, board-certified in internal medicine, is the
medical director of Shore Occupational Medicine. He is joined
by treating physician, Thomas Armbruster, MD, board-certified
in family practice.
Dr. Sisskin said, “Using Shore Occupational Medicine to

During the ribbon-cutting event, Long Branch Mayor Adam Schneider
thanked the hospital for developing this valuable collaboration
for the businesses and residents of the community. He also presented
a proclamation celebrating the grand opening of Shore Occupational
Medicine on behalf of New Jersey State Assembly by Assemblyman
Steve Corodemus (R), District 11, who was unable to attend.
