George
C. Davis, MD, a pulmonologist and critical care specialist, was
named president of the medical and dental staff of Monmouth Medical
Center for a two-year term.
LONG BRANCH, NJ – Monmouth Medical
Center, an affiliate of the Saint Barnabas Health Care System,
announced its new 2009 medical and dental staff leadership.
George C. Davis, MD, a pulmonologist and critical care specialist,
was named president of the medical staff for a two-year term.
Dr. Davis is also Monmouth’s medical director of Critical
Care and section chief of Pulmonology. Surgeon Michael Arvanitis,
MD, who specializes in colon and rectal surgery, as well as minimally
invasive surgery, is president-elect. Dr. Arvanitis is also section
chief of Colorectal Surgery. Chair of Pediatrics, Margaret Fisher,
MD, infectious disease specialist and medical director of The
Children’s Hospital at Monmouth Medical Center, has been
appointed secretary; and obstetrician-gynecologist Andrew Sun,
MD takes on the role of treasurer.
Frank J. Vozos, MD, executive director of Monmouth Medical Center,
said, “We are extremely fortunate to have these respected
physicians lead our medical staff. This dedicated group willingly
provides a significant amount of time to work with Monmouth Medical
Center management and our doctors to ensure that we provide the
