LONG BRANCH, NJ – The David S. Zocchi Brain Tumor Center at Monmouth Medical Center is hosting “Brainstorm: A Dialogue and Education Series,” a free community seminar scheduled for Wednesday, October 26 from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in Monmouth Medical Center’s Borden Auditorium. Designed for those affected by all types of brain tumors, the free seminar will focus on radiation and radiosurgery as treatment options for brain tumors.
Guest speakers Mitchell Weiss, M.D., Chairman, Radiation Oncology, and Sang E. Sim, M.D., Radiation Oncologist, of Monmouth Medical Center will cover crucial topics such as: understanding the role of radiation for primary brain tumors, Gamma Knife and other radiosurgery treatment options, treating recurrent and metastatic brain tumors, and the radiation oncologist’s role as part of the brain tumor team. The seminar will also include a panel discussion featuring brain tumor survivors who will share their personal stories.
Registration (sandwiches and snacks) will begin at 5 p.m., followed by the program at 5:30 p.m. A free “Art is Good” workshop will be offered in a separate room for school age children and teens whose family members are attending the Brainstorm seminar.
