LONG BRANCH, N.J. – Monmouth Medical Center, a Barnabas Health facility, recently reached out to the Chinese community by providing information on its Chinese Medical Program at a health fair at the Asian Food Market in Marlboro.

Shoppers visited Monmouth’s information booth, and many took the opportunity to have their blood pressure checked through free blood pressure screenings. The festivities welcomed community members of all ages to receive free goodies and literature about the program.

On hand at the event were volunteers and members of Barnabas Health, including Shirley Hwang, Assistant Vice President Oncology Service, Southern Region, Barnabas Health Cancer Services and Neuroscience Institute; and Chinese Medical Program team members Angela Lee, Program Coordinator, and Josephine Kam, Administrative Coordinator; and RuthAnn Rugnke, RN.

The Chinese Medical Program was developed in 2010 as an outreach initiative to provide the Chinese community with comprehensive medical care. Program staff members visit numerous sites during the year to conduct information sessions on vital health topics.

For more information, contact Angela Lee at the Chinese Medical Program Hotline at 732-923-5057 or anglee@barnabashealth.org.
