Urologists Performing Robotic Surgery

Drs Esposito and Lanteri

Dr. Lanteri (right) and Dr. Esposito (left) have been performing this procedure since 2001, and have one of the largest experiences in the country. Dr. Lanteri and Dr. Esposito have performed more than 1,400 Robotic Radical Prostatectomy operations.

Since their training they have worked closely with Intuitive Surgical Systems the creator of the da Vinci robot, to modify and advance the machine and the procedure.

Dr. Lanteri and Dr. Esposito teach one of three Robotic Urologic Surgical Courses in the United States. Dr. Lanteri and Dr. Esposito teach their technique throughout the USA and have taught surgeons in Europe at the University of Hamburg.

Vincent J Lanteri, MD

Dr Lanteri Robotic Urological SurgeonDr. Lanteri received his medical diploma at the University of Guadalajara in Mexico, and his Urologic Surgical training at the University of Medicine and Dentistry (UMDNJ). Dr. Lanteri also completed a Fellowship in Urologic Oncology at Roswell Park Memorial Institute of Health in Buffalo, New York.

Michael P. Esposito, MD

Dr EspositoDr. Esposito received his medical diploma and urology training at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ), followed by a Fellowship in Laparoscopic Minimally invasive Urologic Surgery, and Endourologic Stone Surgery at the Royal Infirmary in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Dr. Lovallo specializes in minimally-invasive treatments for enlarged prostate (BPH), stone therapy, and Endourologic/Laproscopic/Robotic surgery.

Pierre J. Mendoza, M.D.

Pierre J. Mendoza, M.D.Urologist Pierre J. Mendoza, M.D., has joined the medical staff of  Monmouth Medical Center.

Originally from New Jersey, he has returned to join the Neptune-based practice Coastal Urology Associates, who have served the urologic needs of Monmouth and Ocean counties for over 40 years. Dr. Mendoza earned his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine, where he completed his residency training in general surgery and urology.

He joins Monmouth Medical Center from the University Of Pennsylvania Health System / Penn Presbyterian, where he completed fellowship training in robotic surgery and minimally invasive uro-oncology. Dr. Mendoza’s professional memberships include the Society of Urologic Robotic Surgeons, the American Urological Association, the Endourological Society and the Sexual Medicine Society.

Mark Perlmutter, M.D.

Mark Perlmutter, M.D.Dr. Perlmutter received his medical degree from University of Pittsburgh and his urology training, including extensive robotic surgery, at New York University School of Medicine (NYU).  He followed his residency with an intense robotic training program at Henry Ford Health Care System in Detroit, MI under the direction of Mani Menon, MD, premier robotic surgeon, world-wide.  Dr. Perlmutter specializes in robotic surgery of the prostate and kidney.

During medical school, Dr. Perlmutter was awarded the prestigious Howard Hughes Medical Institute- National Institutes of Health Research Scholarship, one of only 30 medical students in the country to receive this scholarship.  He spent one year at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) studying prostate cancer gene profiles.

Dr. Perlmutter has joined the practice of Rotolo, Howard, Leitner Urological Associates, located in Manasquan and Brick, NJ.  He is a member of the Society of Urologic Robotic Surgeons, the American Urological Association and the Endourological Society.
