Your Plan of Care

Wound Treatment Center Plan of Care

During your initial visit to the Wound Treatment Center, our staff will conduct a thorough review of your medical and surgical history, allergies, present and past therapies for existing wounds and list of medications. Depending on the type of wound, testing techniques may include imaging studies and blood flow testing – all which serve as a valuable screening tool. These tests will help us to determine and develop the best plan of care for you.

Existing wounds will be measured at every visit and photographed initially and during your course of treatment to measure improvement or to determine if a change in treatment course is necessary.

Pharmacological approaches used by the Wound Treatment physicians may include any one of the following approaches:

  • Topical antibacterial agents
  • Chemical debridement agents
  • Growth factors
  • Analgesics
  • Collagen

Our caring wound team will support you throughout your journey of wound healing. We will implement a customized plan that focuses on the underlying condition(s) that are responsible for the delayed healing process. Because our approach is one that treats the “whole” person we address not only healing, but long-term resolution. In addition to your wound treatment center plan of care, your family and/or primary care physician is updated on a periodic basis as to your healing progress.
