Walk INFORMATION

Saturday, October 15, 2011
Verona Park, Verona, NJ

Registration: 10:00am
Walk: 11:00am

Newark Beth Israel Medical Center (NBIMC) and the family of Mary Anne Ahearn, a heart transplant recipient in 1990, joined together to host a walk to benefit heart failure and transplant patients in her memory. Proceeds from Heart & Sole Walk will help to purchase post-transplant medications and equipment to evaluate and treat heart failure patients who come to NBIMC from all over the State of New Jersey.

NBIMC's Heart transplant program ranked #9 in the nation by volume with short and long-term survival rates that consistently exceed national benchmarks.  By the end of 2011, we project that NBIMC doctors will have performed more than 650 transplant surgeries. NBIMC was also named among the top 50 hospitals for specialty care in Heart and Heart Surgery by U.S. News Media Group's America's Best Hospitals.

Help us perform the next 650 transplants!

Heart & Sole Walk is a 4K walk through Verona Park in Verona, NJ. Join us for a great day of fun with entertainment, food and prizes in a beautiful location. Children and adults will enjoy the scenic lakeside path, playground, pedal boats and gorgeous fall foliage.
