Vesicoureteral reflux (VUR) is the backward flow of urine
from the bladder into the kidneys. Patients with VUR can
sometimes have recurrent kidney infections and may benefit
from the ureteral reimplant. This involves sewing the ureter
into the bladder at another location. It is often done using
a large, lower abdominal incision. The robotic ureteral reimplant
allows a precise connection to be made between the ureter
and the bladder while reducing the pain and recovery time.
