Employee Recognition Dinner for Newark Beth Israel Medical Center 

Newark, NJ - On February 5, 2009, more than 500 employees from Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and Children’s Hospital of New Jersey celebrated at an Employee Recognition Dinner held at Mayfair Farms, West Orange, NJ. The event honored employees in a variety of categories, with 474 staff members being recognized for their years of dedicated service to The Beth.

“You are the leaders of The Beth and Children’s Hospital of New Jersey not because of your titles but because of the actions and strong work ethic you start your work day with every morning, afternoon or evening,” said John A. Brennan, MD, Executive Director of Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. "It is because of you that as soon as patients, family members and guests walk through the doors of the hospital they see an exuberance of pride displayed by Beth and Children’s Hospital employees."

In terms of years of service, the following recognitions were given:

  • 140 employees celebrated 5 years of service
  • 120 employees celebrated 10 years of service
  • 80 employees celebrated 15 years of service
  • 72 employees celebrated 20 years of service
  • 28 employees who celebrated 25 years of service
  • 19 employees who celebrated 30 years of service
  • 7 employees who celebrated 35 years of service
  • 7 employees who celebrated 40 years of service
  • 1 person who celebrated 45 years of service

Employees recognized for 20 years of service

The employees accumulated more than 6,380 years of service to Newark Beth Israel Medical Center.  Also honored were the 2008 Core Value winners and the 2008 Employees of the Month. These employees were honored for a variety of reasons – from saving the life of a choking colleague to carrying a bleeding child to the Emergency Department.
