Newark, NJ - The Pulmonary Function Testing Lab at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center (NBIMC) has been remodeled and reopened with enhanced and advanced technologies and services. The site treats both adult and pediatric patients.
The Pulmonary Function Testing Lab
Open six days a week, the Pulmonary Function Testing Lab has acquired two new state-of-the-art pulmonary testing systems. This ground breaking pulmonary analysis equipment offers patients the latest in efficiency and precise measurement. The versatility of the systems and expertise of the staff allow services to be provided for both children and adults.
“In addition to our enhanced space and equipment, we also have new staff members to meet the growing demand for high quality pulmonary testing,” says Sean M. Studer, MD, MSc, Director of the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care at NBIMC.
The Pulmonary Function Testing Laboratory resides within the Department of Respiratory Care Services, which offers respiratory therapy, ventilator management, pulmonary breathing exercises, bedside pulmonary function tests, oxygen therapy, and intensive care respiratory services to inpatients and outpatients. These therapies help patients suffering from pulmonary diseases achieve independence and rehabilitation.
Robert B. Sigler, MBA, FACHE, Director of Respiratory Care Services and Neurodiagnostics at NBIMC, is a trained respiratory therapist with more than 32 years experience in therapy and management. He lists some of the areas treated by the improved Pulmonary Function Laboratory:
