 NEWARK BETH ISRAEL MEDICAL CENTER NAMES NEW CFO

Newark, NJ—Newark Beth Israel Medical Center (NBIMC), an affiliate of the Saint Barnabas Health Care System, has named Domenic J. Segalla as Senior Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective February 2, 2010. Mr. Segalla brings to NBIMC 15 years of healthcare financial leadership. 

“With Domenic’s wealth of financial knowledge and proven track record as a CFO, we are confident in his abilities and fortunate that he will join the Newark Beth Israel team,” said John A. Brennan, M.D., Executive Director of NBMIC and Children’s Hospital of New Jersey.

Prior to NBIMC, Mr. Segalla has served since 2005 in several financial leadership positions at St. Vincent’s Catholic Medical Center, in New York, most recently as Senior Vice President and CFO.  At St. Vincent’s, a $1B system which is comprised of two hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, a home care agency and a managed care company, he successfully re-tooled the revenue cycle and, implemented a major cost-savings business improvement plan. Before joining St. Vincent’s, he served as Senior Vice President and CFO for North General Hospital in Harlem, where he held leadership positions in finance for over eleven years.

“I look forward to being a part of the executive team to build upon Newark Beth Israel’s current success and help develop and implement strategies to not only benefit the medical center, but also the surrounding community,” said Mr. Segalla.

Affiliated with the Healthcare Financial Management Association, Mr. Segalla holds leadership positions and sits on the board of several professional and Healthcare related organizations.  Mr. Segalla is a New Jersey resident and resides in Hoboken.
