For women who are interested in a more homelike birthing experience within the hospital, the Natural Birthing Room may be perfect. This setting provides an opportunity to design your labor environment to accommodate your birth preferences.
A mother utilizing this option will have the opportunity to further enhance her labor and delivery experience with the following amenities:
- Spa-like showers for water therapy during labor
- Holistic modalities to pain management (alternatives to anesthesia)
- Mobility, including walking in room and hallway and using a birthing ball
- Aromatherapy
- Soothing music
Expecting mothers should speak with their physician about the new rooms to determine if this approach is right for their specific situation. Those interested must also take the Relaxing Birth Class offered through Women's Health Education.
