The Ambulatory Surgery Center is a leading provider of outpatient surgical procedures in New Jersey. The Surgical Center houses seven state-of-the-art multi-specialty operating rooms. The Center has special accommodations for pediatric patients, a staff of pediatric anesthesiologists and a separate preparatory and recovery room. No other ambulatory surgery facility in the region offers as much advanced technology under one roof.

Athlete Training Center

Craniofacial Center

The Craniofacial Center is New Jersey's first designated center for the evaluation and treatment of craniofacial impairments in children. Pediatric patients from birth to age 21 with conditions such as cleft lip and palate, jaw growth discrepancies and other facial anomalies benefit from the highly trained specialists who work together to achieve improvement in function and appearance for patients with craniofacial abnormalities.

Full service outpatient imaging services with convenient appointment availability. The Center offers the sophisticated Positron Emission Tomography (PET Scan), open and traditional MRI scanners, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, Computerized Tomography (CT Scans) and diagnostic tests. The Center features a new generation of filmless technology, the Picture Archiving Communications System (PACS), which transmits and projects images anywhere within the Ambulatory Care Center and Saint Barnabas Medical Center. Available Board-certified Radiology specialists include Pediatric, Musculoskeletal and Neurology.

Obesity and Weight Management Center

Open to adolescents over age 18 and adults, The Obesity and Weight Management Center was developed especially for people with serious weight problems as well as those who have not been helped by other non-surgical weight loss methods and adults who require lifestyle management before and after bariatric (weight-loss) surgery. Our health professionals are experts in their fields and have experience with issues related to obesity. Depending on individual needs, services may include nutrition assessment and counseling, psychotherapy and a supervised exercise program.

Pediatric Rehabilitation Department

The Comprehensive Pediatric Rehabilitation Center offers the state's most sophisticated rehabilitation services for children administered by physical and occupational therapists trained in multiple specialties including:
- For physical and occupational therapy needs of children.
- The use of this technique helps children with sensory integrative dysfunction (e.g. children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHAD, ADD, etc.) who exhibit delays in fine and gross motor skills, poor balance, coordination deficits, and poor dexterity. The goal is to help improve their ability to organize and process information from the different sensory channels and to interrelate and synthesize these inputs in order to emit an adaptive motor response. Ultimately this can help children increase their body awareness and respond appropriately to their environment.
- Children of all abilities (children with cerebral palsy, high/low muscle tone, orthopedic problem and sensory integration dysfunction) can benefit from this service. There are many purposes for aquatic rehabilitation depending on the diagnosis which can range from improvement in muscle strength, endurance, coordination, balance, body awareness and range of motion.
- Yoga has many benefits for children with Down's syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Sensory Integration Dysfunction, Learning Disabilities and many other conditions. It can facilitate improvement in the child's breathing, flexibility, endurance, strength, balance, fine and gross motor coordination, bilateral motor coordination and social skills.
- We offer custom made splints and orthotics for children of all ages for both hands and feet.

Speech & Hearing Center

The sense of hearing has a profound impact on a child's ability to learn and mature normally. Even a slight hearing loss may affect a child's development. Early identification and intervention are crucial. The Speech and Hearing Center provides specialized treatment for children with hearing, speech and language impairments. A speech-language pathology staff provides clinical assessment and treatment of articulation, voice, fluency, language and swallowing disorders. Audiologists perform hearing evaluations utilizing the latest diagnostic technology. They also fit and dispense hearing aids and assistive listening devices. A comprehensive cochlear implant program is offered. Expanded hours of operation are: Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. through 7 p.m. and Friday, 8:30 a.m. through 6 p.m.

Families who have children with disabilities often find it difficult to bring their children to a playground. We are currently working on a project to build a specialized playground which may be used in therapy sessions to assist the family and the child in a way which will ultimately enable them to use the playground in their own community.
