Surgeon Jeffrey A. Stock, M.D. performs pediatric urology procedures at Saint Barnabas Medical Center.
In 2003 Dr, Stock performed the first robotic surgical procedure on a pediatric patient in New Jersey. Robotic surgery has been performed on children as young as one year of age for the following medical conditions: ureteropelvic junction obstruction, ectopic ureters, intra-abdominal testes, dysplastic kidneys. Dr. Stock has been recognized as a “Top Doc” twice in New Jersey Monthly magazine (2003 and 2005) and three times in the Castle Connelly Top Doctors New York Metro Area (7th, 8th and 9th editions). The advent of robotic surgery has opened the door to many exciting new possibilities for minimally invasive surgery for children. With the da Vinci® System, the surgeon only needs to make small incisions, which translates into decreased blood loss, reduced postoperative pain and a quicker recovery from surgery. These benefits are so important for active children who are eager to get back to their normal daily routines. And, quicker recovery time means less time spent in the hospital following surgery, thereby reducing the stress levels for both the parent and child. 
After receiving his undergraduate degree at Yeshiva University, New York, N.Y., Dr. Stock received his medical degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine, also in New York. He completed residency programs at the University of Medicine and Dentistry, New Jersey Medical School, Newark, and participated in a pediatric urology fellowship at the University of California, San Diego. A board-certified urologist, Dr. Stock is currently a Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, New Jersey Medical School. He has published more than 50 articles in peer reviewed journals. Dr Stock has been an associate editor of the journal Urology. Dr. Stock has also made numerous presentations at professional meetings and is a member of numerous medical organizations, among them, the American Urological Association, the American College of Surgeons, Society for Pediatric Urology and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
