'LINK’ Provides Easy Access to Information and Appointments for all Saint Barnabas Physicians and Services TOMS RIVER, NJ – The Saint Barnabas Health Care Link telephone and internet referral service provides the community with a single point of access to any information related to the Saint Barnabas Health Care System — its physicians, programs/services and facilities. The Web site provides a simple and convenient way for visitors to search for physicians. Visitors can search by entering a physician’s specialty, gender, zip code or hospital affiliation. In addition, requests for appointments with physicians can also be done on the website. People can also obtain information regarding any programs or services being offered at system hospitals and facilities. Furthermore, many of these programs such as health screenings and support groups are offered free. For those people who prefer to contact the service by phone, calling the Health Care Link connects you to a real person, not am automated system. Link staff is trained to help callers find the best facility or the best physician for their individual needs. In addition, Link staff can provide callers with information on physicians’ insurance information, education, or medical credentials. “At the Link, we’re here to help you find a physician, and we’ll even make the appointment for you,” says Belynda Delgado, R.N., B.S.N., M.S.N., director, Saint Barnabas Health Care Link. To better meet the needs of New Jersey’s community, the SBHCS physician referral service has introduced a new appointment scheduling service that provides callers who select a participating physician with the option of scheduling an appointment telephonically or electronically. “The Link is ready to help you find a physician — whether you’re new to the area, looking for a primary care doctor or you need a specialist,” Delgado says. “Just tell us exactly what you need — from office hours and locations to insurance coverage and even specific language requirements.” The Link also allows callers to learn more about a service or program, register for a class or request literature on any health topic or service they may be interested in, Delgado adds. Delgado explains that there are currently many free programs and services being offered through the system that the public is not aware of. “After we’ve helped a caller, we always tell them about available programs in their area; whether it’s a free health screening, educational program or support group.
